Business and Marketing Services
Quality Consultancy
- We have carried out many successful consultancy
assignments preparing organisations for Lexcel, The Law
Society's practice management award, the Investors in
People award and ISO 9000.
Business Consultancy
- Helmsmen has a track record of more than 18 years helping businesses
in areas such as marketing and business planning. The quality of our
advice has been recognised in the past by many contracts under the DTI
Enterprise Initiative and more recently contracts to assist private
enterprise companies in Egypt under a European Union funded project and
in India for a private client. Helmsmen provide leadership training and
advice for partners and directors that is a key contributor to business
success.
Business Planning
- In addition to marketing and market analysis, Helmsmen help with the
start-up stage and the move out of the entrepreneurial stage,
determining the structure size and shape of the firm, including
the development of the operational procedures. These procedures
are tied into management controls, cash flow and P&L
calculations. Helmsmen have developed ways to include marketing into
the operational software of professional firms that provide ongoing
indicators of when marketing activity needs to be increased as
contracts head towards completion. This also helps develop a marketing
culture and focus in a firm indicating when existing clients and other
potential clients should be contacted.
Project Management
- We have provided consultants on both a short-term and a
long-term basis to assist in major transport projects such as
Heathrow Express, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and Eurostar.
Marketing Consultancy
- Marketing experience has been recognised by books commissioned by
Kogan Page covering direct marketing (the largest and growing sector of
marketing), value for money marketing (making marketing accountable for
any size firm), sales promotion (this practitioner book is now the core
text of the Diploma of the Institute of Sales Promotion and a ‘must
have’ for agencies), and the Handbook of Field marketing (outsourcing
the sales function). Work is in hand on ‘The Journey/Path to Purchase’
which will allow greater accuracy in targeting buyers whether
consumers, business to business or the professions. Customer bonding
with the brand is a tool for City analysts to predict future share
value. Helmsmen act as part of a team carrying out brand valuations for
mergers and acquisitions. Implementation of consistent marketing
messages improves sales conversion rates (up to 30%).
